Our head of Dispute Resolution team, Kyriakos Karatsis, despite his well-founded commercial litigation practice, his 360-degree perspective in dispute resolution matters allowed him to take up the challenge in defending a private client in criminal proceedings in Cyprus which concerned the serious charge of child abduction.

The dispute first started with court proceedings instigated in Germany (Dusseldorf) under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction and moved to Cyprus with the filing of criminal proceedings, following the execution of a European warrant of arrest. Kyriakos was successful in defending the mother, acquitting the latter from the charge of abduction.
